REVEAL GENOMICS, S.L. is a biotechnology start-up created in September 2020, seeking to change the way biomarkers are used in oncology. It is focused on developing innovative diagnostic tools to define the best therapeutic options for patients with cancer. The company uses pioneering techniques, sophisticated computer applications, and machine learning to reveal new cancer research data. REVEAL GENOMICS, S.L. is a spin-off of Hospital Clínic of Barcelona, IDIBAPS, University of Barcelona (U.B.), and Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO).

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated bioinformatician to join REVEAL GENOMICS, S.L. The hired person will work on the analysis of genomic data in the context of patients with cancer. The candidate will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting genomic data using advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and various state-of-the-art techniques. A key aspect of this role involves leveraging AWS cloud computing platforms for scalable and efficient genomic data analysis, ensuring robust processing and insightful results. Finally, additional main responsibilities will include Data Management and organization using REVEAL GENOMICS' Databases. The successful applicant should be able to work independently and in several projects. The candidate will join an extremely motivated team committed to performing a high impact work in the precision medicine field. REVEAL GENOMICS, S.L. has all kind of valuable data to apply computational approaches to design and implement methods for analysing it. The candidate will be involved in different challenging projects that will potentially result in genomic tools to be applied at clinical practice all over the world. EU citizens will be requested a registration certificate in Spain. Non-EU residents must hold a valid residence and work permit. Additionally, all applicants must possess educational qualifications that are accredited or recognized by the Ministry of Education to ensure compliance with the standard educational requirements for the role.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Required degree: Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, biomedical engineering or related fields.

Experience:

Must Have

  • Experience of minimum 3 years in AWS cloud computing platforms.
  • Experience in the development and/or implementation of algorithms, and/or of computational pipelines.
  • Strong experience in/with omics data analysis and integration.
  • Strong expertise in applying statistical models and machine learning algorithms to analyze and interpret complex genomic dataset.
  • Experience in the analysis of large-scale omics data, specifically DNAseq and RNAseq.
  • Experience in oncology would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and organizing large-scale genomic datasets.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for biotech product development.

Technical skills

  • Proficient in programming skills in R, Python, C, C++, etc.
  • Containerized workflows and DSLs: Nextflow, SnakeMake

Competences

  • Excellent problem-solving,critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary research environment.
  • Good (academic) writing and presentation skills

Languages: English and Spanish.
