Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated bioinformatician to join REVEAL GENOMICS, S.L. The hired person will work on the analysis of genomic data in the context of cancer patients. The candidate will be required to analyze Illumina-based sequencing data, gene expression data, tumor DNA copy number alterations and DNA somatic mutations identified using DNA-sequencing. The candidate who will fill this position will be expected to design and perform statistical analyses of sequencing data and tumor DNA data and will be versed in methods for the biostatistical analysis of survival and response data coming from cancer patients. Finally, additional main responsibilities will include Data Management and organization using REVEAL GENOMICS' Databases. The successful applicant should be able to work independently and in several projects. REVEAL GENOMICS S.L. The candidate will join an extremely motivated team committed to performing a high impact work in the precision medicine field. REVEAL GENOMICS, S.L. has all kind of valuable data to apply computational approaches to design and implement methods for analysing it. She/he will be involved in different challenging projects that will potentially result in genomic tools to be applied at clinical practice all over the world. EU citizens will be requested a registration certificate in Spain. Non-EU residents must hold a valid residence and work permit. 

Required qualifications and skills

  • Experience: Biomedical Science Degree or similar. 
  • Studies: PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics or related fields will be in consideration. 
  • Languages: English 
  • Experience:
  • Experience of minimum 4 yearsin AWS cloud computing platforms.

o  Experience in the developmentand/or implementation of algorithms, and/or of computational pipelines.

o  Strong experience in/with omicsdata analysis and integration.

o  Strong expertise in applyingstatistical models and maching learning algorithms to analyze and interpretcomplex genomic dataset.

o  Experience in the analysis oflarge-scale omics data, specifically DNAseq and RNAseq.

o  Experience in oncology would bean advantage.

o  Demonstrated experience inmanaging and organizing large-scale genomic datasets.

o  Familiarity with regulatoryrequirements for biotech product development.

Technical skills

o  Proficient in programming skillsin R, Python, C, C++, etc.

o  Containerized workflows andDSLs: Nextflow, SnakeMake

Competences

o  Excellent problem-solving,critical thinking, and analytical skills.

o  Ability to work bothindependently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary researchenvironment.

o  Good (academic ) writing andpresentation skills
