REVEAL GENOMICS SHAREHOLDERS ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT FOR IT TO BE ACQUIRED BY HOLOGIC TO ADVANCE PRECISION MEDICINE IN BREAST CANCER

Shareholders of Reveal Genomics, a precision oncology company developing genomic tests to personalize breast cancer treatment based in Barcelona, have entered into a definitive agreement for it to be acquired by Hologic, a global medical technology company focused on women’s health.

The agreement marks a milestone for Reveal Genomics and opens a new chapter in its mission to ensure that every patient with breast cancer receives the most appropriate treatment for her disease, through better-informed treatment decisions.

Founded in Barcelona in 2020 as a spin-off of three leading academic and research institutions (IDIBAPS/Clínic Barcelona, the University of Barcelona and Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology), Reveal Genomics was created to bring a deeper understanding of breast cancer biology into clinical practice. The company develops genomic tests that give physicians additional biological information to help tailor treatment to each patient.

Its flagship product is HER2DX^®, a genomic test for patients with early-stage HER2-positive breast cancer, designed to provide clinically relevant information to help guide treatment decisions.

 Together, Hologic’s existing capabilities and the Reveal Genomics portfolio are expected to broaden the range of solutions available to inform therapy selection.

Completion of the transaction is subject to regulatory approval in Spain and other customary closing conditions. Until then, Reveal Genomics and Hologic will continue to operate as separate and independent companies.
